Proposed Muni line changes - what do you think?

The San Francisco Transit Effectiveness Project just came out with Muni change recommendations today. Click this link to see how your line has been affected:

Personally, I'm quite happy with the changes, and think it will benefit the vast majority of Muni riders. Many connectors to BART, such as the 28L, 38L and N-Judah may get improved service.

What do you think?

while some of the route

while some of the route tinkering may be an improvement, after months of "research" they seem to have missed the critical issues. Item, Muni has but DOES NOT USE signal preempts.
Auto interference is a major cause of chronicly slow and delayed buses yet very little was said about evicting cars from transit lanes, towing double parkers, etc. The 38 is exemplary. The current service pattern has too many locals stopping too many places, BUT, given that most days 1 in ten scheduled buses doesn't run, even these overly close stops are always busy. Particularly in the segment east of Van Ness, most of the buses are stuck either trying to get to the curb or trying to get back into traffic. The supposed diamond lanes are not enforced.

And FWIW, the cable cars are all given a pass although current operation is a disaster. Most cars spend more time resting han actually in service.

My take on reading through

My take on reading through the documentation is that the TEP proposed Geary (38) and Van Ness changes are just an interim step to prepare for BRT in both those corridors.
