Electronics Technician Employment Exam

I have been invited to take the Communication and the Train Control Technician exams. I’m a little concern about the Electronics Communications section since the curriculum from my previous studies barley touch base on the subject. I have some basic knowledge but no real practical experience in this area. Are there anyone out there that had taken the test that may be able to offer any advice. Also, any recommendation of a good reference materials to prepare for the exams.
Appreciate any constructive response.

Seriously, go back to school,

Seriously, go back to school, perhaps a community college and take a couple of courses aligned with the minimum knowledge requirements for the position. You are not helping yourself nor the public by your lack of experience and knowledge. In this economy, you're up against a wide assortment of candidates that are over qualified both in experience and training. For a quick review, head to your public library and check out the civil service test books on electronics and communications positions - that's your best bet on the quick. Good luck.
