Anybody notice that the East Dublin Bart Platform is not safe from car accidents on 580?

Anybody notice that the East Dublin Bart platform is essentially at the same elevation as the 580 hwy and that the only barrier between you and the cars is short concrete shoulder and a chain linked fence? To me this is a deadly accident waiting to happen. Looks like a very dangerous liability. If there's ever a car accident at that section of 580, imagine a car or truck colliding into the barrier, and shrapnel and parts of the vehicle flying into the crowd on the platform, decapitating several bystanders? A tiny chain linked fence is not going to stop a Semi Truck at all. It'll crash right through the fence like cobb webs and fire and debris will slam right into the crowd standing on the platform.
West Dublin bart is much safer, protected with walled barriers. Other bart stations by hwys, like Castro Valley is safer too, because the platform is MUCH higher than the hwy elevation.

It's only a matter of time
It's only a matter of time before some big-rig come barrelling through one of the BART stations that are along motorways..hopefully it will be off hours and spare scores of people a fiery death.
Sorry, cannot say I have been
Sorry, cannot say I have been to the new West Dublin Station yet, but what makes this station any different than say Pittsbugh/Bay Point? Seems by the descriptions I read at West Dublin, the platform in between Highway 4 is quite the same, separated only by a chain link fence and a concrete K-rail barrier.
I was referring to many
I was referring to many stations that are right along a motorway. They are all dangerous and when it happens people will sue and BART will pay and the nanny state will step in and make us all wear flame retardant flack jackets when we are at those stations.
This reminds me of that
This reminds me of that building right off 80 as it ran through San Francisco. For a while the highway was bypassed so it was literally feet from the side of the building. I think they must have given that corner office to their least liked pointy haired boss, because it wouldn't have taken much to have a truck's load fly right through that window.
It's better now that the highway is back in place.
I was just thinking this the
I was just thinking this the other day! Once I was on a train full of commuters that witnessed a rear-end hit and run right in front of the Dublin station during the evening commute.
And why aren't there soundwalls at these stations along the freeways? It is incredibly loud, not to mention that the people waiting on the platform are completely exposed to the elements and the cars whizzing by.
Really makes you wonder about
Really makes you wonder about BART planning. Hope passengers are actually safer on the train! I wonder these days.
