When It Works BART is GreatWhen BART works as it should it is great! Take for instance coasting quickly and smoothly between Orinda and Lafayette heading towards Pitts/Bay. If this happens, you will see that the train is going faster than traffic on highway 24 during the evening commute. I experienced this pleasant moment twice last month during my daily commute home. It was great! |

I ride this stretch of BART
I ride this stretch of BART 2x a day every week day, and there are very few times when the trains aren't operating at full speed, and passing most cars on 24. I've heard that on weekends there are slowdowns between Lafayette and Pleasant Hill due to a construction/maintenance project, but in my experience, weekdays are all about fast trains along 24.
