8 car trains this morning - are you serious?
An estimated one million people going to the Giants parade and celebration and BART runs 8 and 9 car trains before noon? Way to plan ahead.

Yeah, as my train pulled in
Yeah, as my train pulled in this am one car short, I thought "BART, the only agency to reduce service for an event", but apparently the cars were being used for extra trains so they could run a peak service all day ... but don't get me started on the ticket machine amateurs this morning ...
Every available bart revenue
Every available bart revenue car was in a train today. If you were on a train of only 8 or 9 it is only because it is much better to have that than a 10 car and 7 car train. I was on a train today and BART will probably set another new record.

2nd time you have forgotten Bart PD OFFICERS & CSO's , Dispatchers , AFC techs , line techs and Revenue crews who did the extra duty yesterday as well.
If they can get every
If they can get every available car in use for one day, why can't they run 10 car trains 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.?
Is it really that much of a stretch to accommodate the highest commute times?
Each car has only so many
Each car has only so many hours of revenue svc before it must go into the shops for periodical maintainence. On the parade day they pulled cars from the line up headed to the shops and sent them back into service. At any given time there could be 20 to 30 cars system wide that are at or over their p.m. hours. they are taken to the shops for svc each nite, so some days the car counts are very low, other days high. Bad weather and the holidays/giants/raiders/A's/parades/concerts also can dictate how many cars are available for revenue each AM.These are PUC rules and Bart just follows them for your safety.
