Please don't close the doors without actually sticking your head out to check
Hey BART!
I realize you need to keep the trains running on time, but please don't close the doors without checking to see if there's anyone left. I was in line, waiting my turn to enter. Happened to be the last one when you decided to close the doors. It wasn't a big crowd, perhaps 8 people. I did not do that obnoxious thing where people are late and jam the doors, or indeed, once someone threw their bag and successfully kept the doors open once. It wasn't even rush hour, and I don't appreciate it when TOs can't be bothered to check during non-busy hours to see if anyone's left.
Between this and the three (!) escalators I saw that were out of service yesterday, it makes me glad I ride BART very rarely now.

If, in fact you observe an
If, in fact you observe an operator NOT looking back while closing doors/departing, you must report it at once. Note the nearest car # as the train begins to move, the time, etc; and call BART about it. This is the most dangerous thing an operator can do, and they must be reported.
I did not know that this
I did not know that this should be reported--indeed I was trying to get myself through the door when it happened. Thanks for the info.
This morning at 12th St.
This morning at 12th St. Station, I was transferring from a Pittsburg-Bay Pt line to a Richmond train. As my train pulled into 12th st, the Richmond train's doors were open. Then my train's doors opened, and I briskly walked to catch the Richmond train. The doors literally shut IN MY FACE. WTF?? I looked up at the driver's car
and didn't see any head sticking out. I swear some of these TOs need to be fired.
That's because the official
That's because the official transfer point is 19th, not 12th. Trains will
NOT wait at 12th. Train operators should announce this as you pull into
12th st station.
oh. Well, it was a big tease
oh. Well, it was a big tease then, because the train doors were open a long time, but as soon as our doors opened, 3 sec later, theirs closed.
Thanks for the info!
What pisses most train
What pisses most train operators off, is people waiting for one or two doors in a long train. Too fricking lazy to walk 35 ft in either direction to go thru an empty door. While I doubt the TO didn't do a look back, you were probably sucking hind tit and lollygagging so he/she didn't think you were serious about getting on.
A little advice; get on the train when the doors are open, don't wait in a line when other doors are clear. You know, you can walk thru to other cars on the train. The trains run late, some just a few mins and some a lot more, I'm not gonna wait for you to decide if you're getting on or not, I'll close the doors once I see it's clear.
Move to a clear door, period.
And if it's rush hour?
And if it's rush hour? There's usually no empty door. I've seen several people try to find an emptier car, but running up and down the platform doesn't seem like a safe thing to do. Why should I move to an empty door when TOs usually (and apparently, are supposed to do) stick their heads out to check if it's okay to close the doors?
If I did what you proposed, the TO probably would have closed the doors before I could get to an empty one. I was already partway through the door when it was closing and snagged my bag on it.
A little advice for you: Stick your head out to see if there are stragglers. And learn to read: I wasn't "sucking hind tit and lollygagging", I was the last of a group to enter the door.
Do your *job*, period.
Are all BART employees as big
Are all BART employees as big of arrogant assholes as you are?
There are signs everywhere telling people to board in the center of trains, asshat.
@bartarded-What "Board
@bartarded-What "Board Center" means is that the train will berth the center of platform, usually for a short train. You really live up to your chosen name, dickweed.
I don't have time to wait for your silly ass to pick a car, or cruise chicks or dudes thru the windows. When the doors open, find a short line to board, or be left waiting on the platform...it's really that simple.
A suggestion, if you have a problem/concern/suggestion with an employee or the system in general, use the comment cards provided at Station Agent booth, they work.
bartarded comment cards can be found underneath the nearest stinky bum within the train, in which whom might be bartarded sleeping after a garbage can lunch.
>get upset about being called
>get upset about being called an asshole
>at like more of an asshole in response
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Well, nobody ever accused you of being too intelligent.
For the asshat train operator
For the asshat train operator and other BART employees who are posting here --
This is BARTRAGE Bitches! This is where customers come to RANT about your piss poor idea of customer service.
We don't want to listen to a bunch of self entitled employees preaching to us like we're errant children. Go start your own board called BARTLOVE and you can all gather there and congratulate one another for the shitty service that you think is the status quo for a large urban transit system. Belittling BART customers who post here could not any more concisely show why your shitty attitude and laissez faire approach to your job is why this site was created in the first place!
"We don't want to
"We don't want to listen"
therein lies the problem.
