BART spent $43 million on a set of crossover tracks....that don't work!

KTVU recently aired a report on a set of crossover tracks that BART built between Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek stations from 2009 to 2011. Fast forward to 2014 and the crossover tracks are still not working. According to the report BART blames computer and wiring problems for the crossover not working since according to BART they are merging "new" and "old" technology...even though this isn't the first set of crossover tracks BART has built since the system opened.

That doesn't take into account the years of track maintenance everyone has put up with too. Granted, there were a couple of copper tubing thefts but BART should have security. I'm telling my employer that I need to go back to driving! BART is no longer dependable or safe. Good job Grace!
