Attention: To those who play games on their cell phones!

If you are one of those riders who play the games on your cellphone, please keep the damn sound low or off. It's so annoying when all you hear are those cheap sounds from the game. Not too mention how dumb you look staring at your small ass screen. If you really need to play video games while riding, buy yourself a "real" handheld video game.

There was this Asian lady tonight who was playing on her phone and it was the most annoying thing.

What was most annoying? That she was Asian, or the sounds coming from her phone? Are the sounds from "real" handheld video games any less annoying?

I can't help but wonder if the additional noises on BART (loud conversations, ringing cell phones, noise leaking from iPod headphones, screaming children, foul mouthed teenages, etc)aren't exacerbated by the annoying train noise itself.

I recall that one of the TV stations did a decibel level test on the transbay tube and it was well above 90. Somehow, it seems even higher than that. To avoid the annoying noises of the train and the inconsiderate loud talkers and games players, wear ear plugs. They're relatively inexpensive and you can purchase them at K-Mart in the sporting goods section or at any drug store. Well worth the investment...protect your hearing, mute those annoying human made sounds and make the ride a little more pleasant.

lol I'm just bitching about it because it's one of those annoying sounds from a cell phone video game which does not sound pleasant at all. She had it up hella loud and of top of that she must have been doing good because the sound effects from her game was going off the hook. ;-)

I said Asian just to describe the individual without intending to be racist. It's fine if people want to play on the train but keep it down or wear a headphone.

It's true the loud sound in the train probably caused her to turn up her game way up there. Don't mind me, I'm just bitching. :)

In all seriousness, the noisy trains are probably one of the biggest complaints about BART. Not only do the riders and Train Operators have to endure those deafining sound levels, think about the people who live near BART tracks! My sister in Union City says she has noticed a definite increase in train noise over the years. Her house is across the street from a raised trackway. Imagine what it must be like for those who live right next to the tracks.

I agree with you about riders keeping their noise to themselves. Our ears are constantly bombarded with ambient noise. That's why I suggested ear plugs. Since I started wearing ear plugs on the train, I don't have to listen to someone else's personal phone conversation, screaming children, foul mouthed teens of all colors and sexes, or excited sports fans cheering for their team (I like to see their spirit, but I hate their noise). I can still hear the Train Operator's announcements clearly enough to know what I need to know, but everything else is on MUTE! :)

I never ride without a set of headphones anymore. I noticed the Tube going toward the east bay is much louder than the one coming and the some trains are quieter than others, as well as cleaner than others. It would definitely be nice if passengers were more considerate of their cell phone usages, loud conversations, drunken singing, ranting, etc., and the police should really be on there to kick the weirdos off that look like they have bed bugs and are scratching themselves with their shirts up all over; really awful to watch.

Go fuck yourself, its a free country, I'll play whatever I want, whenever I want, and WHEREVER I want.

Dumbasses like you are exactly why society and the bay area is goin' down the tubes.

Ignorant, selfish chumps like yourself that think only of themselves, and don't give a damn about how your actions and decisions affect others.

If it were up to me, I'd send your ass and others that think and act like you on a 1-way flight to Iraq.

I'm with Operator9. Send their sorry whining behinds to Iraq and let them see what hardship REALLY is. Female whiners...be sure to leave all your makeup and feminine products here because you won't be able to use them there. Birth control pills are considered contraband; you are "unclean" during that wonderful time of the month...but pack up and go see what it's like so you'll know how great you have it here.

gee now there is inteligence at its best

What's the matter? You didn't have anything better to do on Father's Day than to respond to a two month old post. How sad for you. Daddy must not be speaking to you and if you were my offspring, I'd have left you at the hospital.

Ah, if it isn't the ubiquitous Anonymous - foul mouth and lack of education showing.

Yes, it is a free country but you do not have the right to play whatever you want, whenever you want and where ever you want. Only spoiled, selfish children think like that, which apparently is what you are as shown by your comments on the various posts.
