Airport Parking Question
I am going for a quick trip out of SFO this weekend and I was planning on using the airport parking at Millbrae. I will be getting to the train station at noon on Friday and my plane does not get in until late Monday night. Do I have to buy a permit that covers all of the days, even though I normally would not have to pay to park on Saturday or Sunday? Or could I just pay the daily fee for Friday at the machine and print out a permit that covers just Monday? The BART website is not clear -- not that I blame them; if I can't figure out the answer, I will probably end up paying for the weekends also because $6 a day is much better than a ticket.
Thanks to anyone who knows.

Parking is free at the
Parking is free at the station on the weekends. Buy a daily fee for Friday and since you're coming back Monday I would go online buy and print the long term parking for Monday only and put it on the your dashboard. Make sure you park in permit parking area since after 10am you can park there (you're parking at noon) and in order for your online long term parking permit to be valid you have to be parked there. Hope this helps.
I have parked over the
I have parked over the weekend many times and you should not need a permit for Sat and Sun. As a matter of fact, the first time I tried it wouldn't even let me buy the permit if it included weekend days. I think your plan is a good one.
I have to park from Friday,
I have to park from Friday, Sep 2 through Fri, Sep 9. Sat, Sep 3 through Mon, Sep 4 (Labor Day)are no-fee parking days. So, I bought two permits (I'll display both of them on my car); one for Friday, and another for Tue-Fri; that way I am paying only for 5 days instead of for 8 days. Any ideas as to whether this will be a problem?

Just thought I would report back. I displayed two permits on my dashboard, and upon my return, all was good . . .no ticket, no problems.

Amazing turn of events - the BART parking people are FINALLY changing the system to prevent people from inadvertently paying for weekends and holidays. Moreover, they are refunding past payments. Just got this email:

For your added information, BART's policy pertaining to Airport Long Term Reservations is as reflected below.

BART offers Airport Long Term Parking at select stations and is an exception to BART's 24 hour time restriction and parking charges for weekend and holiday periods. Airport/Long Term Program permits can be purchased for periods up to 60 days.
Any Airport / Long Term Parking reservations beginning and ending on any weekday and spanning a Holiday, Saturday or Sunday are subject to Airport Long Term charges throughout the reservation including the Holiday, Saturday or Sunday covered throughout the reservation period.

I read about this and was
I read about this and was gratified that refunds are forthcoming. However, it remains asinine that one must pay for weekends if they occur in the middle of the parking period.
